Lead a science experiment at our STEM Squad after school program in Grand Rapids, showcase your profession through hands-on learning at a Saturday day camp, share your technology or engineering skills with our property committee to help improve and steward our land.

Prepare camper or donor mailings. Like to organize? Come “kondo” our office and program supplies (Grand Rapids or Lakeshore). Help out with filing, cleaning and other admin projects.

Gather a group for a half or full day to clean-up camp’s property, adopt a cabin to clean-up and get ready for campers, lend your construction skills to help with repairs or new building projects.

Teach or assist with our camper workshops during summer camp on Lake Michigan, put on a kid-friendly dance, drama, music or other arts performance for our campers, hare your expertise with our staff to help them carry out workshops with excellence!

We have a similar day keeping program at the Ludington North Breakwater Light, as well. The local day keepers, “Breakers”, currently help keep the Lighthouse open 7 days a week and allow the resident keepers a day of rest so they aren’t getting burnt out from the day keeping responsibilities.

Little Sable Point and Ludington North Breakwater Lights only require one week commitments. Big Sable Point is a two-week commitment due to the remote location (1.8 miles into the park) and use of the access road is permitted to the volunteers for designated periods. The Seekers continue to meet as a local Lighthouse group. Many members volunteer at LSP on Mondays and Thursdays from May through Sept as part of the SPLKA volunteer program.
