Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response
At Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity, our highest priority is the health and safety of our entire community—staff, clients, volunteers, supporters, and neighbors across the region, state, and nation.
During this COVID-19 outbreak, health officials suggest that no matter our age or health we practice “social distancing” to play our part in slowing the virus. Effective immediately until further notice, we are enhancing cleaning and sanitizing at all our facilities and sites, and adapting our work to incorporate new best practices to prioritize community health.
We aim to make our decisions based on the best information available, and we will do our best to be responsible and timely in making and communicating decisions, as this is an ever-evolving, fluid situation.
Homeowners and Buyers:
We will seek to arrange remote options or conference calls where applicable. Your contact at Habitat will let you know of any changes.
If classes or trainings are canceled, our Homeowners Services Coach will notify you of any changes.
We have re-opened for volunteers and have implemented enhanced safety protocols including limiting the number of volunteers on a build site and a health screening at the beginning of a shift. We want to get back to full speed for our community as soon as possible, but we also want to make sure we do our part to ensure the safety and health of everyone involved with our activities.
Open Tuesday-Friday from 9 am-5 pm and Saturday from 9 am-3 pm.
Product purchases are also available through Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist at this time.
Our office is currently open, here are some of the additional health practices we have implemented. In addition to requiring all staff and visitors to complete a health screening, we will:
• Arrange remote options or conference calls where possible.
• Enhance our cleaning and sanitizing efforts.
Staff will still periodically be working remotely and will be available via email and phone.
