Affinity Mentoring
Ways to help youth thrive |
Affinity MentoringAffinity Mentoring is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that partners with local businesses, organizations, and schools to match students in K-8th grade with a caring adult role model to journey alongside them one hour a week. Mentoring is a mutually beneficial experience. Both you and your student's worlds will expand as you enter into relationship with each other. You will play games, encourage self-confidence, read books, and help them start to explore who it is they can become. Any person who has a heart for youth, is over 16 years old and can read, is eligible to mentor. Prospective mentors must complete an application, background check, interview and training prior to being matched. The time commitment is an hour a week for the school year [October-May]. About us | Every child needs caring, trusted adults to lean on and to guide them. At Affinity Mentoring, we train mentors to be one of those people on a child’s team. Through weekly, school based mentoring sessions, mentors and students develop a partnership and friendship, helping students to reach their full potential. |
