About us Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice (LSLC&H) is a nonprofit, community-based organization serving Marquette County since 1979. As Michigan’s oldest existing hospice, LSLC&H provides personal and professional care 24 hours a day 7 days a week. LSLC&H strives to comfort patients and their families during time limiting situations. Hospice is palliative care for patients near the end of their life. Hospice care can be provided in a patients’ home, hospice centers, hospitals, long-term care facilities, or wherever a patient resides. Palliative care focuses on improving a patient’s quality of life by managing pain and other distressing symptoms of a serious life-limiting illness. Palliative care should be provided along with other medical treatments.
