Ways to help

Become a Tutor

As a tutor, you will be paired with one adult learner to teach reading, math, or English as a Second Language. The subject choice will be yours. You will receive copies of all texts and supplementary resources from staff as part of your "Tutor Prep" prior to your first session. There are two 12-hour training workshop held in early spring and late fall at the Center free of charge. Certification is not a requirement to begin tutoring, but we strongly encourage all tutors to be certified. Each session lasts about two hours and can be scheduled between the hours of 9am-6pm Mondays through Thursdays.
