The shelter has several acres of grounds and buildings. There is always something that needs to be done – gardening, minor building repairs, painting, cleaning up, etc. Your “handy” skills are always needed somewhere at Delta Animal Shelter!
For those who prefer work behind the scenes, you are needed to help care for the animals’ daily needs. We look for all kids to have background experience with cows/livestock. We would like volunteers to be 13-14 if you’ve had past Dairy Day Camp experience, or 15 and up.

We are looking for volunteers in the kitchen helping our cook prepare and serve meals as well as helping clean up afterwards. Past volunteers have commented on how rewarding it is to serve those in need and getting to know some of the people we serve.
Community Rebuilders brings together volunteer groups of professionals, friends, and students. Volunteer groups support Community Rebuilders through project-based work at our fair market rentals. Projects vary depending on current needs but some examples are: Green thumbs – mowing lawns, landscaping, raking leaves; DIYers – painting, cleaning, small building projects.
Create-A-Keepsake is a program that pairs volunteers with individuals to design and create a memorial keepsake.
