Volunteers are used to assist with several types of emergencies/disasters including floods, tornados, large fires, as well as events that may be chemical, biological, explosive, radiological, or nuclear in nature.

By adding your name and information to the Registry, you are indicating your willingness to volunteer your time and skills in an emergency. You will be contacted in an emergency if local, regional, and/or state responder resources are not sufficient to meet the need for response and recovery efforts resulting from that incident. The volunteer may work directly with the children. Childcare is provided to clients so they may attend support groups and counseling appointments.

The volunteer must have training in the crisis line procedures. The volunteer may answer the line at the shelter or at home.

The volunteer assists the client with transportation to meetings, appointments, school, court, etc. The volunteer also may assist moving victims into their own home.

The volunteer may assist with fundraising events such as the color run, the yearly raffle, and Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The volunteer may assist with office procedures. Shopping and Maintenance: The volunteer may assist for food and other supplies for clients, and shelter repair, clean, and hazard control.

Prepare or purchase snacks and/or meals for our volunteer client advocate trainings on an as-needed basis.
