Assist with property facilities maintenance: painting, interior decorating projects, repair work, etc. Assist with grounds maintenance: landscaping, yard clean up, and special projects as needed.

Arrange/pick up large item donations from community members/businesses. Helping clients move.

Transporters are often needed to transport animals to and from various events, appointments and meetings, as well as to pick-up donations. In order to transport for the HSSCM volunteers must possess a valid driver’s license as well as pass a driving record investigation.

HSSCM has a limited amount of space available for students needing service hours for school, including National Honor Society. New this year, HSSCM will offer credit for school related community service through the completion of specific projects only. Students must propose their project in writing. HSSCM is in need of individuals to work on our gardening team, planting, weeding, and watering our flower beds between March and September. You can work at your own pace and at a time that is convenient for you!

HSSCM is always in need of groups to come out and work on special projects, especially helping clean up and mulch our dog park trail system. Contact us if you have a group needing a project.

Provide general office support. Tasks include filing, answering phones, and more.

Our events require many hands. Help out by manning booths, selling tickets, assisting with set up/take down, and more.

If you’d rather work behind the scenes, you can help with educational programs, story telling/crafts, mailings, facility and/or yard maintenance, or other jobs that help us keep the Point Betsie Lighthouse a treasured destination for locals and visitors. Grounds volunteers may help set up for events, pull weeds, trim shrubs, or sweep sidewalks.
